Mathematics offers us a curious discovery, known as the Horn of Gabriel. This surface is formed by rotating the curve y = 1/x, a rectangular hyperbola, around the x axis for values greater than one. The remarkable fact discovered by Italian physicist and mathematician Evangelista Torricelli is that although the Horn has a finite volume, equal to π cubic units, its surface area is infinite. If the Horn were filled with ink, there would not be enough ink to cover its entire area.
