Kid Abelha and Abóboras Selvagens held their first performance and had their song "Distração", by Leoni and Carlos Beni, played on a radio show. The performance was a success and the band was soon invited to play at Circo Voador, in Rio de Janeiro. In 1982, Kid Abelha was invited to record their first LP, "Rock Voador", along with other new bands from the national scene.

The success of the debut album by Kid Abelha e as Abóboras Selvagens was undeniable: the singles "Morena", "Romance Ideal" and "Eu Quero Semper Mais" hit the radio stations and the record reached the mark of 150,000 copies sold, winning the gold certificate. The album's repertoire deals with themes such as naive romanticism, adolescence, rebellion, the monotony of adult life, the relationship between idol and fan and feminism.

In 1985, Paula and Banda headlined the first edition of the Rock In Rio festival. A year later, they released their second album, "Educação Sentimental", which featured great hits, such as the songs "Lágrimas e Chuva", "Garotos", "Os Outro" and a re-recording of the hit "A Formula do Amor", previously recorded by Leo Jaime, with the participation of the band.

In 2002, Kid Abelha's 20-year career was celebrated with great fanfare. The band was invited to record the album Acústico MTV, which contained acoustic versions of some of their greatest hits, such as "Como Eu Quero", "Lágrimas e Chuva", "Fixação", "Eu Contra a Noite", "Os outros". and "In Your Place". In one of his shows, there was an unusual situation: the stage collapsed and the audience still thought it was part of the presentation!

Another time, the bus destined to transport the band and their equipment had problems. The City Hall ended up solving the issue by providing them with a state bus that was very old and in poor condition. That way they would be able to get to the concert venue. It is noteworthy that Paula Toller is not married to any member of the band. She has been married for 15 years to filmmaker Lui Farias, with whom she has a 13-year-old son, Gabriel.

Upon returning from Campinas to Galeão, RJ, Paula was the target of an argument with a security guard, which ended in some slaps exchanged between them. As a result, Paula was arrested, but released after posting a $50 bond. After judicial processes and criminal examinations, it was proven that none of those involved was guilty, and both were cleared.

It is notable that at the end of the song "O Beijo" (Ie ie Ie, 1993) there is an excerpt from the song "You've Got To Change Your Hive Ways", by the Beatles (Help!). The reason for this is quite simple: George Harrison had his first kiss to the sound of this song. As if that weren't enough, George also owned another band, "Os Britos".

October 17, Brazilian Popular Music Day, in honor of the birth of Chiquinha Gonzaga, the first official composer of Brazilian popular music, born in 1847 in Rio de Janeiro. The date was established by Decree Law No. 12,624, of May 9, 2012, during the government of President Dilma Rousseff. Chiquinha Gonzaga was a pioneering figure in Brazilian music, known for her timeless songs that continue to inspire great artists such as Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, and Caetano Veloso. She also founded the Brazilian Society of Theater Authors and played a fundamental role in the development of popular music throughout the 20th century. The term "Música Popular Brasileira" (MPB) emerged in the 1960s, referring to a generation of influential singers and composers who stood out in song festivals, mainly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
