It is a Portuguese club founded on June 2, 1923 in the city of Covilhã, located in the Serra da Estrela region, in Portugal. Known as "Os Serranos", due to its mountainous origins, the club is known especially for its football team, which regularly plays in the Segunda Liga, the second division of Portuguese football. It emerged at a time of great enthusiasm for football in Portugal. Founded by a group of friends passionate about sport, the club grew and established itself in the city, quickly becoming a local sporting symbol. From the beginning, it adopted green and white colors, similar to those of Sporting Clube de Portugal, and followed the same tradition in its name, although it has no formal link with the Lisbon club. The team is affectionately called “Os Serranos” and “Os Leões da Serra” by its fans, a reference to the mountainous location and the strength of its players.
