Filipe Toledo has been a Corinthian since his mother's womb, the number 77 that the surfer carries on his lycra is a tribute to the team. In a video posted on Corinthians' Facebook page in 2015, Filipe explains that the choice is linked to the year 1977, when Corinthians became Paulista champions again after 23 years, with a goal by Basílio against Ponte Preta. Before choosing the 77, the athlete wanted the lycra with the 7 on the back, however, it had already been chosen by the Australian Mick Fanning. With that, he opted for doubling the number which, in addition to the connection with the Corinthians title, has a connection to perfection in the bible.
