Training the owls to deliver mail was one of the biggest challenges for bringing the world of Harry Potter to the big screen. After months of work, the production team managed to teach some owls to deliver messages to the actors. For added realism, the Hogwarts acceptance letters were handwritten, just like the ones that reached the Dursleys in the first film.
