Halbrand is an enigmatic character in the series who raises suspicions about his identity, as he does not appear in the original trilogy of “The Lord of the Rings”. Galadriel believes him to be the king of the southern lands due to a symbol he bears, but Halbrand denies this descent, claiming to have obtained the necklace from a dead man. It is not yet known whether he will be an ally or an enemy of Sauron, and there are theories that he may be Sauron himself disguised as Annatar.
