In 2019, Gusttavo Lima released the album O Embaixador in Cariri, recorded live in Crato, Ceará. The album features new songs and re-recordings of sertanejo hits. The song "Cem Mil" was one of the highlights of the album and became a hit across the country, reaching number one on the Brasil Hot 100 Airplay and receiving a diamond certificate for more than 10 million plays on digital platforms. In the same year, Gusttavo Lima was nominated in two categories at the Latin Grammy Awards, in the category of Best Sertaneja Music Album, with the album O Embaixador in Cariri, and Best Song in Portuguese Language, with the song "Cem Mil". In 2020, the singer released the album The Legacy, with songs that marked his career and some new ones. The first single from the album, "De Menina Pra Mulher", was a huge success on digital platforms and on radio stations across the country.
