How AI Learns and Makes Decisions
The role of data:
Artificial Intelligence learns patterns from large volumes of data. The more information available, the greater the accuracy of decisions and recommendations, making AI a powerful tool for analysis and prediction.
AI vs. automation:
Unlike automation, which follows fixed rules without the ability to learn, AI identifies patterns and adapts its responses as new data emerges, enabling smarter and more flexible decisions.
Types of AI:
Reactive AI: responds to stimuli without memory, such as spam filters that block unwanted messages.
AI with limited memory: uses past data to improve future decisions, such as virtual assistants that remember user preferences.
Why it seems intelligent:
AI simulates human decisions through symbolic or statistical algorithms, but it does not have consciousness, does not understand meaning, and does not think like humans. Its “intelligence” is merely a simulation based on learned patterns.
