Stranger Things is an American streaming television series created by the Duffer brothers. The series features actress Winona Ryder who plays Joyce Byers, the mother of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), a boy who mysteriously disappears. Jane (Millie Bobby Brown), a girl who goes by the name of eleven, appears in the plot and steals the scenes with her supernatural powers. The first season takes place in the fictional city of Hawkins, Indiana, United States and is set during the 1980s and begins with 4 friends playing a game of RPG (Dungeons & Dragons).

Everyone is familiar with the Stranger Things series, whose original title was Montauk. What is the Montauk Project? Reports say it was a secret US government project to develop psychological warfare tactics and investigate exotic phenomena, including time travel. Between the 3rd and 4th season of Stranger Things actor David Harbor had to slimming down for the Flashback scenes, which required the Hopper character's previous physique, the series' crew used prosthetics and makeup.

The connection between Stephen King and the Stranger Things series is evident from the first season. The writer's praise of actress Bobby Brown's talent, after seeing his 2014 drama Intruders, ended up making her chosen for the role of Eleven. This coincidence unites the master of literary horror even more to the series, showing that he really had discovered our heroine.

Stranger Things is clearly inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons RPG. The gang of friends is seen getting together to play the series and the Upside Down creatures were all taken from the RPG. Monsters like Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, and Vecna can be found in Dungeons & Dragons.

Vecna, the big bad of Stranger Things 4, was built mostly with 90% practical effects, to be exact, and a little bit of computer graphics (CGI) to complete his look. To bring Vecna to life, it took a team of four to apply the practical full-body effect. The process started early in the morning, and yet it took another hour at the end of the day for it to be removed.

In Stranger Things 4, Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) wants to break out of the stigma of being a nerd and join the hipsters. To this end, he uses Hawkins' high school basketball team as a springboard. Caleb chose the number 8 for his jersey (shirt) in honor of the idol Kobe Bryant, NBA legend. It was Caleb's intention, a big fan of Kobe, who took the opportunity to honor him.

Millie wasn't too thrilled about getting her hair cut like the character she demanded until the directors showed her Charlize Theron's result in Mad Max: Fury Road. She was impressed with the look and decided to follow the same trend. Winona Ryder's appearance was influenced by Meryl Streep's character hairstyle in Silkwood.

Stranger Things has been nominated for several top entertainment awards. The second season has four Golden Globe nominations, while the cast of the first season was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award in the category of best cast. Approximately one thousand child actors were evaluated to compose the cast of children, however, the highlight was actor Finn Wolfhard who plays the character Mike. Wolfhard was already an admirer of films from the 80, which was decisive for the creators of the series to choose him.

At first, there were plans to do a second season with other actors, showing a younger version of the characters. However, due to the great success that the first season had, the creators realized that the charisma of the child actors was fundamental for the series to be a success.
