Mathematics EN 9th grade: Sum of the interior angles
Sum of interior angles
For a polygon with n sides:
\( S = (n - 2)\times 180^\circ \)
📌 Example (hexagon, n = 6):
\( S = (6 - 2)\times 180 = 720^\circ \)
Exterior angle of a regular polygon
\( \text{ângulo externo} = \frac{360^\circ}{n} \)
📌 Example (regular pentagon, n = 5):
\( \frac{360}{5} = 72^\circ \)
Sum of angles External angles
Always:
\( 360^\circ \)
Angles with the same vertex
They can be adjacent, complementary, or supplementary.
📌 Example:
Two angles of \( 60^\circ \) and \( 120^\circ \) are supplementary, because: \( 60^\circ + 120^\circ = 180^\circ \)
