Death and Resurrection of Jesus
The Bible recounts that Jesus Christ, regarded as the Son of God, was sentenced to death by crucifixion in Jerusalem, a pivotal event in Christian faith. After being betrayed by Judas Iscariot and tried by religious and Roman authorities, Jesus was condemned on charges of blasphemy and sedition. He was crucified at Golgotha, where he suffered and died to atone for humanity’s sins, according to the Gospel accounts.
On the third day after his death, the Bible narrates Jesus’ resurrection. Women who visited the tomb found it empty and were told that Jesus had risen, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies. This resurrection is seen as the ultimate victory over death and sin, offering eternal hope to believers.
Jesus’ disciples witnessed his appearances after the resurrection, strengthening the Christian faith and beginning the spread of the gospel. This event forms the foundation of Christianity, affirming Jesus as the Savior and Son of God, who offers salvation and new life to all who believe.
