Patrícia Pillar became a major highlight in the plot

Patrícia Pillar became a major highlight in the plot, becoming one of the main villains of the telenovela. Flora had a sharp tongue when referring to her enemies: Lara (Mariana Ximenes) was often called “purgante” or “little cow”, due to the fact that she was an adopted daughter of Donatela (Claudia Raia), who was known as "the cow". Patrícia Pillar delved deeply into the lives of women prisoners to compose the character Flora. She visited the Talavera Bruce women's prison, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, and met with the inmates to better understand their reality. To help her create Flora, Pillar requested the help of Paloma Riani, a dramaturgy instructor, and Kátia Achcar, a psychoanalyst. These two professionals contributed to the construction of the subjectivity of the character. The actress tattooed herself with a design of a star with wings on her back to play her character, Flora. The tattoo was fake, but it had a deep meaning for her.
