Since the project's conception, the series' animators have always made explicit the question about the difficulty of making the drawing in 2D, instead of 3D. In practice, it would be very difficult to animate action scenes in 2D compared to using 3D. Consequently, this motivated the adoption of the series format in three dimensions. Also, many people have come to prefer 3D over 2D, which may be one of the reasons why the developers made the drawing that way.
