Avenida Brasil tells the story of a young woman who, since childhood, plans a reckoning with the stepmother. Rita (Mel Maia), motherless, was created, with a lot of love, by her father Genésio (Tony Ramos). Everything changes when he marries Carmen Lúcia, Carminha (Adriana Esteves), an ambitious and disingenuous woman who, little by little, gaining the trust of her husband and other characters in the plot. From there, Rita starts to have her life threatened and, at the same time, she is forced to live with Carminha.
