December 23rd day of Saint Sérvulus
December 23rd day of Saint Sérvulus, and celebrates the life of a Christian saint known for his charity and compassion, being considered the patron saint of the poor. Saint Sérvulus lived in Rome in the 6th century and, despite facing health difficulties and being paralyzed since childhood, he dedicated his life to helping those in need. He spent his days at the door of the Church of São Clemente, where he begged for alms and shared what he received with other poor people. Despite his limitations, Sérvulo bought a Bible, asking passers-by to read excerpts to him, which allowed him to memorize many passages. He died on Christmas Eve, surrounded by pilgrims, and his life was mentioned by Pope Gregory I the Great in his homily.
