In the film My Name is Chihiro (Call Me Chihiro), directed by Rikiya Imaizumi, the protagonist worked as a prostitute until she found a coastal town and decided to settle there to work in the bento shop. She warmly approaches clients, talking through various issues and offering comfort. Despite suffering from loneliness since her childhood, Chihiro uses the bento shop to face her loneliness and make new friends, such as Okaji, a teenage student, and Makoto, a boy whose mother works all the time. Throughout the film, Chihiro learns to overcome her loneliness and open herself to the world.
