The date is marked by campaigns and actions promoted by health institutions, gyms and professionals in the area, which reinforce the importance of maintaining an active routine through regular physical exercise, such as walking, running, weight training and sports.
Experts recommend that adults practice at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, while children and adolescents should move for at least one hour per day.
The objective of the National Day to Combat Sedentary Lifestyle is to alert the population about the benefits of practicing physical activities for health and well-being, promoting a more active and balanced lifestyle.
