Its name alludes to April 9, 1941, when CSN was officially created — directly responsible for the city's development.
The modern and bold architectural design, designed by renowned architects Ricardo Tommasi and Glauco Oliveiros, made Cinema 9 de Abril one of the most impressive cinemas in Latin America at the time. With a capacity for hundreds of spectators and excellent acoustics, it became the stage for film screenings, cultural events and formal sessions that marked generations of residents.
Today, the space remains a center of cultural reference, having undergone renovations to maintain its structure and adapt it to contemporary needs.
