Valuing the Art of Winemaking: why is it celebrated on October 22?
October 22nd is Winemaker 's Day in Brazil . This date was chosen in honor of the birthday of Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco, one of the first Brazilian winemakers and one of those responsible for the development of viticulture in the country
Winemakers are professionals specialized in wine production and winery management. Their work involves several stages, from choosing the grapes to fermentation, aging and bottling of the wine, in addition to sensory analysis and evaluation of the quality of the product. These specialists play a fundamental role in defining the profile of the wine, taking into account factors such as the type of grape, the terroir (the growing environment) and winemaking techniques. Winemaker's Day serves to recognize and value the importance of these professionals in wine culture and the wine industry.
