The International Day against Homophobia
The International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) , celebrated on May 17 , aims to raise awareness about the discrimination and violence faced by LGBT+ people around the world. This date marks the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by the WHO on May 17, 1990. During IDAHOT, several actions are carried out to promote equal rights and combat prejudice and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
