Scottish Fold
Scottish Fold cats are known for their ears that fold forward and down, the result of a genetic mutation. They have a medium to large body structure with proportionate legs and medium-sized tails. Their eyes can vary in color and are usually large and round. The coat can be short or semi-long and comes in a variety of colors and patterns. They are known for their sweet and gentle personality. They tend to be calm, friendly and affectionate cats. The breed originated in Scotland in the 1960s, when a cat with folded ears called Susie was discovered, and from her, breeders developed the breed, which quickly gained popularity. Due to the genetic mutation that causes the ears to fold, Scottish Folds may be predisposed to certain health problems, such as joint disease.
