The Exotic shorthair
The Exotic shorthair cat is a breed recognized for its similarity to the Persian, except for its short, dense coat. This breed emerged in the 1960s through crosses between Persians and other short-haired breeds. It was developed in the United States by breeders who sought to produce cats with the docile temperament and charming appearance of the Persian, but with an easier-to-care-for coat. They have robust and compact bodies, with large heads, flat faces and small ears. Its coat is short, dense and soft to the touch. These cats share many of the Persian's personality characteristics, including a calm, affectionate, and friendly temperament. They are known for being docile and sociable cats. They are generally healthy cats, but may be predisposed to some conditions common to flat-faced breeds, such as respiratory and eye problems.
