Tadasana: Mountain Pose
Tadasana, or Mountain Pose, is a cornerstone of yoga, serving as the foundation for many standing poses. Inspired by the firmness of mountains, it strengthens body awareness, improves balance, and promotes spinal alignment.
How to Practice
The practitioner stands with feet together or slightly apart, activates the legs, lengthens the spine, relaxes the shoulders, and keeps the chin parallel to the floor. Arms can rest alongside the body or be raised overhead, while deep breathing maintains focus and stability.
Variations of Tadasana
Pranamasana: prayer pose.
Urdhva Hastasana: arms extended overhead.
Paschima Namaskarasana: reverse.
Combinations with hip and back openings.
Each variation works on alignment, strength, and flexibility, making it suitable for beginners, pregnant women, seniors, and athletes.
