March 26
March 26 is Cervical Cancer Prevention Day, with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of this disease. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers among women and is directly related to infection by the human papillomavirus (HPV).
The main form of prevention is vaccination against HPV, recommended for girls and boys from the age of 9. In addition, a regular Pap smear test allows early detection of changes in the cells of the cervix, increasing the chances of effective treatment.
The date reinforces the need for information campaigns on healthy habits, vaccination and preventive exams. With appropriate measures, it is possible to significantly reduce the incidence of the disease, ensuring a better quality of life and health for women.
