LeFou: The Clumsy Faithful Squire
LeFou, Gaston's faithful squire in Beauty and the Beast, is one of the most comical and, at the same time, tragic characters in the story. Always willing to please his master, LeFou follows Gaston in all his actions, even if it involves questionable and morally dubious attitudes. His main goal is to ensure that Gaston has the recognition and respect he believes he deserves.
Despite his good intentions, LeFou is often clumsy and naive, which puts him in funny situations and serves as comic relief in the film. However, his role is also important in highlighting Gaston's selfish and cruel nature, since LeFou always accompanies him in the chases and plans against the Beast, without questioning his decisions.
Throughout the story, LeFou demonstrates a loyal character, but his blind loyalty prevents him from seeing the error in his master's actions. Even though he is a "follower" and is not very aware of the consequences of his choices, at the end of the film, he shows signs that he can finally realize Gaston's true nature and the need to change sides.
