Assojaba – The Search for the Cloak
The Tucuruvi Academics will take a plot with strong cultural and historical representation to Anhembi in 2025. With the title Assojaba – The Search for the Mantle
, the school will tell the story of the Tupinambá Mantle, one of the most valuable indigenous relics, a symbol of identity and resistance of the native peoples of Brazil.
The plot will be developed by carnival designers Dione Leite and Nicolas Gonçalves, with research by Vinicius Natal, and will address the importance of the mantle both as an artistic piece and as a sacred element of the Tupinambá tradition. The school promises a parade full of symbolisms, highlighting the fight for the preservation of indigenous memory and the appreciation of ancestral culture.
With this choice, Tucuruvi reinforces its commitment to historically relevant plots, betting on the strength of the narrative to move the audience and win its first title in the Special Group. The parade will be an invitation to reflect on the heritage of the native peoples and the need to preserve their history.
Excerpt from the Samba-Enredo:
Tece o fio de algodão da tiúba vem a cera
No trançado Jereré, prende a pena feito teia
Mairamê yegaçawa unhëë ki ikatara tupinãbá
No trançado Jereré prende a pena feito teia
Tece o fio de algodão da tiúba vem a cera...
