Bahia, from Faith to the Profane

A Mancha Verde will focus on Bahia's cultural richness with the theme Bahia, from Faith to Profane for 2025. The school will tell the story of Bahian religious syncretism, exploring the coexistence between the sacred and the great popular festivals of the state.
The theme will be developed by the carnival committee, formed by Paolo Bianchi, Lucas Abelha, Igor Carneiro, Robertinho, Eddi Dudee, Gall, Bibinha, Kaique Serdan and Paulo Serdan Filho. The inspiration comes from the documentary series of the same name, produced by Gastão Netto, which portrays the deep relationship between faith and celebration in Bahian culture.
With this proposal, Mancha Verde promises a grand parade, full of colors, rhythms and symbolism, bringing to Anhembi the essence of Bahia and its balance between devotion and celebration.

Inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the group has established itself as a symbol of peace, parading in its white robes and blue turbans on the streets of the capital of Bahia. Today, Filhos de Gandhy is recognized as the largest afoxé in the world by the Guinness Book and a cultural heritage of Bahia.
In the parade, Colorado promises to unite tradition, luxury and emotion, exalting the strength of Afro-Brazilian rhythms and taking a message of spirituality and resistance to the avenue. The expectation is for a show marked by colors, percussion and representation, extolling Afro culture on the biggest stage of samba.
