In Satin Patchwork
Águia de Ouro, one of the most traditional samba schools in the West Zone of São Paulo, has revealed its theme for Carnival 2025. Under the direction of new carnival designer André Machado, the group will pay tribute to one of the greatest samba artists in Brazilian music, Benito di Paula. The theme, entitled Em Retalhos de Cetim, a Águia de Ouro do Jeito que a Vida Quer
, promises to move the audience by reliving the trajectory and songs of this icon of Brazilian popular music.
The choice of Benito di Paula reflects the school's quest for a second title in the Special Group, bringing to light the rich legacy of the singer and composer. The lyrics of his sambas and the musicality that marked generations will be highlighted in the parade, which aims to tell the story of Benito's life and work, addressing both his difficulties and his victories. Águia de Ouro promises to fill the Avenue with emotion, rhythm and the energy of one of the greatest names in samba, in a tribute that will be done the way life wants
.
The parade will be a true celebration of Brazilian music.
Excerpt from the Samba-Enredo:
Luiz Gonzaga meu Rei
Falar de você ai ai coração
A velha sanfona branca sorriu
