January 25th is Postman's Day
January 25th is Postman's Day in Brazil, a date dedicated to recognizing and valuing the essential work of postmen, who play a fundamental role in communication and the delivery of correspondence and packages throughout the country.
The date was chosen in honor of the founding of Correios, the Brazilian postal service, on January 25, 1663. Since then, postmen have become essential figures in people's daily lives, ensuring the delivery of important information, documents and packages, in addition to promoting connections between different regions, cities and states.
Postmen's work goes far beyond simply delivering letters: they also play an important role in times of emergency, such as distributing official notices and performing postal banking services. During times of pandemic, for example, postmen have become even more indispensable in ensuring that communication and services reach citizens, often in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
