Pharmacist
Pharmacist in Brazil. The date honors professionals who play an essential role in public health, whether in dispensing medicines, patient guidance, scientific research or clinical care.
Established to highlight the importance of the profession, National Pharmacist Day recognizes the work of those who dedicate themselves to ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and promoting the well-being of the population.#N#
The choice of the day dates back to the founding of the Brazilian Association of Pharmacists (ABF), in 1916, one of the first entities to defend the rights and appreciation of the pharmaceutical class in the country.
Pharmacies, universities and health organizations take advantage of the date to hold events such as lectures, awareness campaigns on the rational use of medicines and activities that bring the population closer to pharmaceutical services.
Currently, the role of the pharmacist goes beyond simply dispensing medicines, covering areas such as clinical analysis, health surveillance, cosmetology and hospital pharmacy.
