January 12 is the feast day of Saint Anthony Maria Pucci, in memory of the Italian priest born in 1819 in Poggiolo di Vernio, Italy. He entered the Order of the Servants of Mary at the age of 18 and was ordained a priest in 1843. During his life, he dedicated himself to caring for the poor and the sick, serving as parish priest for 45 years in Viareggio, where he founded congregations and orphanages.
He is known for his generosity, facing epidemics and helping those in need. After his death in 1892, he was beatified in 1952 and canonized in 1962 by Pope John XXIII. Saint Anthony Maria Pucci is remembered for his holiness and dedication to the service of God and the community.
