Raising awareness and combating leprosy
Purple January is the month dedicated to raising awareness about Leprosy, with a focus on early diagnosis, treatment and combating the stigma of the disease. Created in 2016 by the Ministry of Health, the campaign uses the color purple to raise awareness about the symptoms of the disease, such as skin spots and loss of sensitivity.
