December 17th Pampa Biome
December 17th Pampa Biome day in Brazil. The date was established in 2017 with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of Pampa and promoting the preservation of this unique biome, which is found exclusively in the southern region of the country, especially in Rio Grande do Sul. Pampa is known for its vast plains and open fields, with vegetation predominantly made up of grasses, shrubs and small trees. The climate in Pampa is temperate, with hot summers and cold winters. This biome is home to a great diversity of fauna and flora, including endemic species, that is, species that only exist in this region. Pampa plays a fundamental ecological role, both in preserving biodiversity and in balancing water and soil resources.
