December 20 is Human Solidarity Day
December 20 is Human Solidarity Day. The date was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005, with the aim of promoting solidarity as one of the fundamental values for peace and global development. It reinforces the importance of cooperation between peoples to face social, economic and environmental challenges, in addition to highlighting collective responsibility in the fight against poverty and inequality. This day is an opportunity to promote social inclusion and respect for differences, encouraging actions of mutual support between nations, communities and individuals.
