Family Day in Brazil
December 8th is Family Day in Brazil, to celebrate the role and importance of families in society. The international date, established by the United Nations (UN), is celebrated on May 15 and is known as the International Day of Families. The origin of the international date dates back to 1993, when the UN established May 15th to promote awareness about issues related to the family, such as equality, health, and well-being. The aim was also to encourage public policies that support families and address social and economic challenges that affect family life in different cultures and contexts. It is a date of appreciation and family unity, and coincides with the day of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a holiday in some regions of the country, facilitating family reunions...
