December 3rd is the Anti-Piracy and Biopiracy
December 3rd is the Anti-Piracy and Biopiracy Day, an initiative launched in 2005 to combat illegal practices and raise awareness among the population about the risks associated with the consumption of counterfeit products and the exploitation of biological resources. Piracy harms scientific and technological development, impacts the economy and biodiversity, and poses risks to health and safety. Established by Law No. 11,203/2005, the day aims to alert consumers about the dangers of purchasing pirated products, which contribute to the reduction of formal jobs and benefit organized crime. In recent years, educational actions aimed at children and adults have increased, highlighting the harm of choosing counterfeit products.
