December 5th is Volunteer
December 5th is Volunteer Day and was established by the United Nations (UN) in 1985. The date was created with the aim of recognizing and celebrating the work of volunteers around the world, in addition to promoting engagement in solidarity actions and the importance of volunteering for the development of communities. Volunteering plays a crucial role in facing social, environmental and economic challenges, contributing to the strengthening of community ties and the construction of a more inclusive and sustainable world. The UN encourages governments, organizations and civil society to get involved in this movement, promoting activities that value volunteer work and encourage more people to dedicate themselves to these actions.
