December 10 Human Rights
December 10 Human Rights Day. This date was chosen to celebrate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which took place on December 10, 1948, by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris. The Declaration is a historic milestone that established, for the first time, the fundamental rights that belong to all human beings, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion or any other characteristic. The origin of Human Rights Day is linked to the need to promote and protect individual rights and freedoms, especially after the atrocities committed during the Second World War. The declaration serves as a global commitment to defend human dignity and equality.
