November 27th is Teachers'
November 27th is Teachers' Day in Spain. This date is dedicated to honoring and recognizing the work of teachers and educators, who play a fundamental role in the education of new generations and in society as a whole. The origin of Teachers' Day dates back to an earlier celebration, which was established in 1900 by the pedagogue Francisco Giner de los Ríos, an advocate of modern education and founder of the Free School Institution. The day is an opportunity to highlight the importance of education and the role of teachers in the formation of conscious and critical citizens. The date chosen marks the anniversary of the death of Saint José de Calasanz, a Spanish educator and saint who founded the Order of Regular Clerics of Education, dedicated to the education of children and young people. He is considered one of the pioneers of education in Spain and had a significant impact on the development of pedagogy.
