November 15th is Umbanda
November 15th is Umbanda Day in Brazil. This date was created to recognize and value the Umbanda religion, one of the most significant spiritual manifestations in the country, which combines elements of various religious traditions, such as Catholicism, Spiritism and religions of African origin. The choice of November 15th refers to the founding of Umbanda, which took place in 1908, in Rio de Janeiro, by the medium Zélio Fernandino de Moraes. He received spiritual guidance to create a new religion that sought to promote peace, charity and harmony among people. Umbanda is characterized by its syncretic approach, embracing diverse cultural and spiritual influences. Umbanda is based on several principles that make it a unique religion: Syncretism, Charity and Love, and Respect for Nature.
