November 17th is Students
November 17th is Students ' Day. This date is a tribute to the struggle of students in defense of freedom of expression and human rights. The origin of the celebration dates back to 1939, when the Nazis invaded Czechoslovakia and closed universities, resulting in the detention of students and the execution of several of them. In response to these events, the International Union of Students (ISU) established International Students' Day as a way to honor students who fought for freedom and against oppression. The date is celebrated in many countries and serves as a moment of reflection on students' rights, the importance of education and the need to ensure a free and safe learning environment.
