November 8th is Radiology
November 8th is Radiology Day. This date was established in 2012 by the World Radiological Organization (WFR), in collaboration with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR). The purpose of the day is to highlight the importance of radiology and medical imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. November 8th was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays by German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895. This discovery revolutionized medicine by allowing doctors to visualize the inside of the human body without the need for surgery, which significantly improved the diagnosis and treatment of many medical conditions.
