November 4th, Inventor's Day
November 4th, Inventor's Day, honors those who dedicate their lives to creating innovations that impact our daily lives. An inventor is responsible for developing new tools, technologies and objects that make our daily lives easier. From revolutionary inventions, such as Thomas Edison's light bulb, to everyday items, such as George de Mestral's Velcro, everything we use was, at some point, invented. Hedy Lamarr, for example, was an actress and inventor whose research helped form the basis of Wi-Fi technology. Inventor's Day was proclaimed by Gerhard Muthenthaler, a German inventor, who wanted the date to encourage people to remember the contributions of inventors to the advancement of society and to stimulate the creation of new ideas and inventions.
