October 28th is Aeronautical Engineering
October 28th is Aeronautical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineer Day, in honor of Air Marshal Casimiro Montenegro Filho, Patron of Aeronautical Engineering. Born in Fortaleza in 1904, Casimiro graduated in Military Engineering in 1938 and was a pioneer in national aviation. He led the first Organization Committee of the Aeronautical Technical Center (COCTA) and was instrumental in the creation of the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA) in 1950, in addition to having contributed to the development of the Aerospace Technical Center (CTA). Aeronautical engineers, working in various areas such as research, air transport and parts industries, play a vital role in the Brazilian economy, promoting technological innovations and ensuring flight safety. This day is an opportunity to value these professionals and encourage new generations.
