October 31st is World Cities
October 31st is World Cities Day. This day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013, with the aim of promoting sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life in cities around the world. The goal is to raise awareness about urbanization and its impacts; promote collaboration between cities to share good practices and experiences; encourage the implementation of policies aimed at sustainable urban development; and celebrate cultural diversity and the potential of cities as centers of innovation and creativity. Each year, World Cities Day has a specific theme that addresses contemporary urban challenges, such as affordable housing, sustainable mobility, climate change, and social inclusion.
