October 8th is the Day of the Northeasterners , a date that celebrates the culture and contributions of the people of the Northeast of Brazil . This celebration aims to value the identity, traditions and history of the Northeast region, which is rich in cultural, musical and gastronomic diversity. This date was chosen in honor of the artist and poet Patativa do Assaré, one of the icons of Northeastern culture, who was born on this day.
