October 11th is Coming Out
October 11th is Coming Out Day, also known as National Coming Out Day (NCOD) . This date is a time to celebrate and raise awareness about sexual and gender diversity, as well as an opportunity for people in the LGBTQIA+ community to share their coming out stories. The day's origins date back to 1988, when it was established by a group of activists in the United States, with the aim of promoting visibility and acceptance for LGBTQIA+ people. The date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the March on Washington for gay rights, which took place on October 11, 1987.
