Conservation and Protection of Species
October 5th is Bird Day in Brazil . Established by a presidential decree in 1968, this date aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving birds and their habitats, highlighting their role in ecological balance. The celebration aims to educate the population about the diversity of bird species, many of which are threatened with extinction due to the destruction of their habitats and human action. Bird Day is also an opportunity to discuss the need to preserve natural areas and combat illegal hunting. Schools, environmental organizations and zoos often organize educational activities, such as lectures, exhibitions and bird watching, to involve people in the protection of these species.
