Occupational Physician 's Day, celebrated on October 4
Occupational Physician 's Day, celebrated on October 4 , is a tribute to the Italian physician Bernardino Ramazzini (1633-1714), a pioneer in Occupational Medicine. Ramazzini was a pioneer in associating diseases with work activities, highlighting the chemical, physical and biological risks faced by workers. His work "The Diseases of Workers" (1700) is a reference in the field. Occupational Medicine aims to ensure the health and safety of workers, preventing accidents and occupational diseases. In Brazil, Regulatory Standards (NRs) establish mandatory preventive measures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The work of these physicians goes beyond admission exams, including the creation of reports to preserve the quality of life in the workplace.
