The Gravitational Force
History of Moderator - Lisboa, Portugal
The Gravitational Force is the mutual interaction between two bodies that is attractive and never repulsive. It is what allows us to stand up, as the Earth exerts gravitational force on bodies. This force makes the Earth's translational movement happen, as well as the other planets. The Law of Universal Gravitation, proposed by Isaac Newton, explains the height of the tides, the life cycle of stars and the maintenance of living stars. The weight of a body is the result of the action of the Earth' gravity field on it. The attractive force of gravity is equal to the weight, neglecting the rotation of the Earth and the action of gravity exerted by the Sun, Moon and other stars. The acceleration due to gravity g is approximately 9.83 m/s² near the Earth's surface... Did you know?
